Hi Chet

Hi Chet! Mallory and I finally finished school today! I am so glad it is summer vacation. Do you have anything planned for your summer? We're going to Atlanta in less than a month and I'm hoping to volunteer at our library.
Lots of Love,
Rachael

Hi Buck-a-roo
Uncle Frank here enjoying your latest blog...when are you heading back to CA? I am wondering if you are home as of today?

So, tired of bugs, fish and rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Bet you can't wait to sink your teeth into an arugula salad - with some fresh tomatoes and goat cheese. Oh and some extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice. YUM! I am sure the plane food will taste delicious.

I too miss CA food - here in NY the winter and spring tomatoes are a pale pink color and the ice berg lettuce are tasteless - I look forward to summer for the selection of veggies and salads makings that you get most of the year in CA -

I often go to this wonderful Vietnamese place near my house and have some great food there - I love it. Perhaps you can tell me what your favorite dish is and i can see if they have it here so i can try it.

Hope you have a safe journey back to CA (if you are not there already). I look forward to talking to you on the phone soon _ wish i could spend time with you and hear about your trip over dinner or around the camp fire at boomerang - hopefully soon.

full moon

Hi Chet,
Sounds like you miss your friends....I am sure they are looking forward to all your wonderful stories you will be able to share with them .Just know...everyone gets home sick. My first time I traveled away from home, I spent 3 weeks in Europe ...I was only 10 years old. I was with my grandma. I think of that first trip now ,and how it changed my life at the young age of 10. It is great and very important to travel and see the world and all the different ways of living and all the beautiful shades we come in.At the end of any trip, it is always great to come home to our friends and our own nest.

Hi everyone,
I'm writing to you from Hanoi. I'm missing California, because I miss all you guys so much, and because I'm getting sick of raw fish and dried bug's for Breakfast!!!!!! Right now I'm in Hanoi and I saw streets where you could see miles and miles of motor bikes. My favorite thing was to   actually ride on a motor bike.

In answer to your question, the plane ride seemed so long I got a bad headache.

I'm sorry Baty but I have no idea what a drift car is. I have something to say and Baty and Erick are going to love it: I saw a lot of Army vehicles, Army planes, And Soldiers. I am looking forward to coming back to California. bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're missing the pope!

Hi Farchuck Family
What great photo-journalism chet - i am enjoying all your photo's and stories. I most definitely want to visit there some time in the near future. Looking forward to sitting down with you all and hearing all about this journey.

Let's see, what are you missing out here in US land...
- The pope arrived and will be in NY - thousands sang happy birthday to him.
- the 6th contestant was eliminated from American Idol -
- Martha Stewart's dog passed - the 6th eliminated idol sang while thousands mourned.
see how much you are missing out here...
- oh, some boston fan cemented a red sox jersey in two feet of concrete at the 1.3 billion dollar yankee stadium as a curse. I was amused - but thousands mourned.
We are a nation in mourning.

- the 1000th democratic debate took place in PA yesterday - - shem, isn't this getting you all excited and racing to the latest news-stand to find a herald tribune ......read it and weep as they say in the newspaper business -

Chet - how are you enjoying the food? I bet it's really good. It's really great to see all of your class mates and friends - i am sure you miss them all very much.
Keep taking those photo's chet....
much love
